Privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-09-06
This page explains what Gacha Compass collects when you visit, why, and what you can do about it. It describes how the site actually works rather than reserving every right we might one day want.
The short version
We count visits. We do not track you between sites, we do not sell anything about you, and there is no third-party advertising or analytics script on this site.
What we collect
Traffic counts. We record which pages are viewed and how often, per day. This is first-party and cookieless — nothing is stored on your device for it. To count returning visitors without identifying anyone, we take a one-way hash of a rotating secret, your IP address, your browser's user agent and the date. Because the date is part of the input, the value is useful for counting people on one day and useless for following anyone across days. We never store your IP address itself.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are honoured. If your browser sends either signal, we do not count the visit at all. Requests from known crawlers are excluded too.
Accounts. This site does not offer reader accounts, so there is no account information to hold.
Sponsor placements. Supporter spots on this site are sold directly by us. Each is a first-party image inside a first-party link — there is no ad network, no auction, no third-party script and no tracking pixel. We count how often each one was shown and clicked, in total per day. Those counts are not tied to you.
What we do not collect
- No third-party analytics, advertising or social tracking scripts.
- No cross-site tracking, profiles or advertising identifiers.
- No sale or sharing of personal information with anyone.
Cookies and local storage
This site sets no cookies for ordinary reading.
Some pages remember small preferences in your own browser using local storage — for example, which gift codes you have marked as redeemed. That data never leaves your device and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
Who else is involved
Fill this in: List the services that actually handle data for this site — hosting provider, CDN, image storage, and your email provider if you send mail. Name them; "trusted partners" tells a reader nothing.
How long we keep things
Daily traffic counts are aggregates and are kept for a limited period, then deleted.
Your choices
- Turn on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control and we will not count your visits.
- Clear your browser's site data to remove anything stored locally.
Fill this in: If you have readers in the EU, UK or California, say which legal basis you rely on and how to exercise access and deletion rights. If you are not sure, say what you actually do rather than copying a clause you cannot honour.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
Contact
Fill this in: Add a contact address — a policy nobody can ask about is not a policy.
